A recognized expertise

You decided to come, to discover, to know a country practicing your favorite activity: trekking, mountain bike, raft, or to ascent a summit, it is very well and we congratulate you for this choice.

Climbing a summit, explore a human, cultural and natural environment is a very delicate art which associates lot of competences in various and very specific sectors and this, of course, cannot be improvised. Regarding our profession, it is, for the C.G.K, an obligation to give you those skills. It is for this reason that we don't sell to you a product but we guide you in the way to reach and discover an environment. We do not imagine our activities behind a desk. Each one of us is an actor of what we organize and it is for that, we will always like to guide you in such an environment.

Each person, each group, each trek having his characteristics, we chose not to systematize our organization in order to adapt us as well as possible to your desires. It is always, thinking of the quality of our services, your safety but also in order to satisfy your wait that we made this choice. The proximity created by this kind of organization authorizes us to consider each one of you, the environment welcoming us as well as possible. We respect the rights of the guide, porters and all other people who accompany you. We propose many small things which dissociate us and make the difference.

Our training team are of course professional and have acquired an expertise as well practicale as theoretical. Their competence is always recognized by a French or Nepalese diploma.

For all the activities finishing in Pokhara, we also chose, to avoid the additional tiredness of a bus travel, a return to Kathmandu by plane. It is the same for our activities served by plane and bus (to refer to the trek files).

And if we are not always present at our Kathmandu agency, it is, as a guide or instructor, we manage an activity. But there will be always somebody to inform you the most precisely possible. We know because we are and go there. So, don't hesitate to ask us advices, information or to meet us, we will be able to speak always with you about what we like.

Our passion is to guide you in the way to appreciate the mountain and its populations. Your safety, your comfort are also ours. And your satisfaction will be much more than a quality label.

In agreement with our ethics, we transfer, in a strict control of its use, a part of our benefit in order to improve a little, without pretension, the comfort of an orphanage in Kathmandu: NEPAL WOMEN AND CHILDREN SERVICE SOCIETY, P.O.Box No 19575 Jorpati, kathmadu, Nepal.

The Compagnie des Guides de Katmandou registers its operation in respect of the workers' rights, populations and nature ethics.

• Ours assistants (porters, guides, sirdars, cooks, helpers,…) are insured against the inherent dangers in their profession, the time of their employment. We try, as soon as we can, to draw up a written employment contract where it appears the daily wages and the worked days. The carried loads are not more than 25/30 kg by porter.
• By the advices we give (on photos, purchase, donations, behaviors,…), we engage us for the respect of populations in their traditions, their cultures et their religions. We never assert ourselves in a place which is refused to us.
• We engage us for the respect of the nature not to use firewood for cooking ; our waste are brought back or destroyed on the spot; we ensure the cleanliness of the place where we passed; we do not use plastic bottles on the trekking; we don't use other path than those open up; we try as more as possible not to disturb, by our presence, human and natural environment; …

But, of course, all this is up to us and you will remain the most loyal witness…
