This trekking is a part of the famous "Across Zanskar ", reduced to cross only the Himalayan range. With this trek you will cross the old Zanskar kingdom in its length from west (Padum) until Darsha (between Lahaul and Rupsu). The trek goes up following Tsarap valley, going through villages with traditional houses. Many monasteries can be visited before reaching Phuktal, surprising monasteries inside a cliff, under a huge cave's arch where springs an holy water. With altitude, the villages disappear. The shepherds camps and their herds will welcome you at the bank of the river. The landscape is more stony and the slender Gumbarujon dominates these high pastures with its sharp silhouette. This trekking has only one difficulty but it culminates at more than 5000 m in Shinkun La. After crossing, the path skirts a glacier before losing one's way in a huge boulder maze. A last crossing above a white river on a breathtaking footbridge and the trekking reaches Darsha small staging post between Zanskar, Lahaul and Rupsu.
